From Classrooms to Communities: Students Making a Difference in Tanzania

Dear Water 4 Mercy Supporters,

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you! Over the past four years, Clearwater Central Catholic High School (CCC) located in Clearwater, Florida, established Water 4 Mercy’s first Student Service Chapter. What began with a handful of dedicated students, has now blossomed into the school’s largest co-curricular activity with 130 members, nearly 25% of the student body.

Student Service Chapter Milestone

The CCC chapter has been incredibly successful in raising awareness about the global water crisis and fundraising to support villages served by Water 4 Mercy. Moreover, their hard work and dedication so deeply moved a generous donor who chose to anonymously sponsor two additional Water 4 Mercy villages.

Student Trip to Dodoma, Tanzania

In June, six CCC students went on their first international trip to Tanzania to visit their adopted Mabalangu Village in Dodoma, whose population has since grown by 30% as a result of having a clean water source. This hands-on experience combined learning with purpose, leaving a lasting impact on the students' hearts and minds. All were excited to contribute to Mabalangu's agricultural efforts and see how their work could further support the community's sustainable living.

In Dodoma, the students tested the flow of the water taps and planted a variety of crops. This hands-on experience was not only educational, but also deeply fulfilling for the participants. Each was delighted to contribute to the community’s agricultural efforts and see how their work could further support sustainable living.

Beth Lani, a key advocate and supporter of CCC’s Water 4 Mercy chapter, expressed her excitement

“Our students have worked tirelessly, and this trip allowed them to see the fruits of their labor. Witnessing the transformation that clean water brings to a village is an unparalleled experience. We are honored to have shared this journey with our students and the community.”
