Ausia and Malichela Villages

Our local team of engineers and field officers had the pleasure of visiting the villages and are delighted to confirm that all the water systems you so generously gifted the communities are successfully operating, providing clean water to thousands of inhabitants. With access to safe and clean water, the communities are thriving and the women and children, predominantly responsible for collecting water, are safer, healthier and have regained precious time which they can now use for studying and/or caring for their families. Throughout their visit, our field officers noted significant and transformative impacts across these communities and I wanted to highlight these two special community members who wished to share how your support has impacted their lives. Akimu Shaibu, a 55 year old father of 8 children, shares: "Before this water project, accessing clean water was a challenge for our community. Residents had to walk long distances to fetch water, which was time-consuming. They often had to wait for the water source to replenish, which meant that they had to spend hours fetching water instead of tending to their other chores. However, after the project’s completion, community members now have access to clean water near their homes. As a result, they no longer fear the quality of their water supply and can focus on other activities. The availability of clean and safe water has greatly improved our lives and we will take good care of this project now and into the future." Anisia Samson, a 37 year old mother of 6 children, shares: "We previously lived in a small, crowded mud house. However, when this project came to our village, it marked the beginning of a new chapter for our family. With access to clean water, we started cultivating vegetables and watering them daily. Our business soon expanded beyond our own produce to include purchasing fruits like papaya and grapes for resale. Earlier this year, we began constructing a new, larger, and more durable cement brick house. I am so thankful for our donors for this project as it really improved me and my children's lives." These testimonies offer a glimpse into the profound impact your support and generosity have had on these communities, and on their behalf, I wish to thank you for your kindness. I have included below some photos from this project which I hope will bring you immense pride and joy and we look forward to sharing further updates with you again soon! Warm regards and thank you once again for your support and partnership, Matilda and the Tanzania Team
